What would a web site about work benches be without a page about a little tikes work bench for your children? I’m not sure what it would be, but I don’t want to find out! I love these things, and my kids do too, so I thought I’d throw up a page to talk about them, just for fun.

There are many different things you can buy alongside your workbench, and I’m going to talk about them as well. These things include the Little Tikes Workhorse, Little Tikes Building to Learn Motor/Workshop, Little Tikes 2-in-1 Engine Block and Workbench Play Set, and the all-important Little Builder Tool belt. So sit back and enjoy!

Little Tikes Work Bench: The “My First Craftsman Workbench” is a great little workbench for your child. Sometimes it’s hard to find this exact model as they’re often sold out but if you are fortunate enough to find one, you will be glad you did. It gives your little builder the tools they need for a world of creative play. This is a very well-stocked workbench! It is sized just right for your youngster and it has the power tools that look and sound just like the real thing. It also comes with 30 additional accessories which are pretty cool. It also comes with the things you need to build a little birdhouse. You’ll need some batteries for this thing but it’s no big deal.

Little Tikes Workhorse this isn’t so much a workbench as it is a little workshop. It folds up for fairly portable use and it’s pretty easy to store. It only comes with three tools and is recommended for ages two years old and up. Even though it only comes with three tools there’s plenty of things that you can do with this pint-size workhorse. It’s less than 2 feet tall but it stands easily on the floor or even on a tabletop. It has five holes that your young carper can pound things into (usually the two chunky “nails” that come with the set). This will give your children hours of pretend carpentry play.

Little Tikes Building to Learn Motor/Workshop I love this workbench but at $300 it may be a little pricey for most parents. This is a great two in one wood shop and engine repair shop that comes with a bonus model car assembly kit as well as a power drill that turns gears and revs engines. The laser guided power drill has six drill bits that come with it and the entire thing has real workshop sound effects that are great. It weighs about 22 pounds in all which is not bad. This is a fully loaded tool bench that is impressive to look at and comes packed with realistic looking tools and features that will certainly spark your child’s creative side. They can assemble a motor, build things, plan things, or just play with the power tools. It measures 13″ x 23″ x 36″.

Little Tikes 2-in-1 Engine Block and Workbench Play Set at around $60 this little workbench may be more realistic in terms of prices than its more expensive counterpart above. It does all kinds of things including transform from a workbench to an engine block that allows you to take the engine apart and put back together again. It comes with many power tools that have real sound effects and really turn when you turn them on and the laser guided power drill comes with six drill bits that’s 50 pieces total (warning – choking hazard!). This is an all-around great bench.

Little Builder Toolbelt what workbench set is complete without a toolbelt?! At around $15 you can’t go wrong with this one. It comes with a sturdy canvas toolbelt with two easy-to-use pockets on the front of it. It also comes with a pretend play hammer, pliers, screwdrivers, adjustable wrench, and two bits. It also has an electronic beeper! Your kids will love to help mom and dad around the house with their own toolbelt.

No kid should grow up without their very own little tikes work bench. He gives them hours and hours of fun, it also teaches them the beginnings of valuable skills that they will use for the rest of your life. That’s why I’m sure your child will love a workbench of their very own.

A good solid industrial work bench is perfect to round out any workshop either at home or at work. The problem is, how do you choose the right one at the lowest price? Luckily you’ve come to the right place today because that is exactly what I am going to talk about today!

There are certain things any work bench should have, and you are really going to feel it if your bench doesn’t have them. This counts even more so for an industrial work bench! And it’s not like you can just run out to Wal-Mart and pick one of these beasts up! So you have to be a little careful when choosing the one that’s right for you. I’ll discuss some of the things yours should have below.

Types of benches that are available: There are many different types for you to choose from. From Cabinet work benches to electronic work benches, to Ergonomic work benches (if you can believe that!) to heavy duty work benches to work station benches. The industrial work bench is generally considered a bare bench, often with a single open shelve underneath it, or no shelf at all. They often feature a smooth top, or even a butcher block top that will take all kinds of abuse and come back for more.

Amazon has a standard 60 X 30 Adjustable Height Industrial Workbench that you can order that costs around $160. It contains all welded 3″W, 13-gauge, with channel formed legs that support a 60′ x 30′ laminate work surface that is reinforced with 1-12′ thick steel. The height of the bench even adjusts from 29-12 to 34-12″ at one inch increments. It’s very wide at 15″ deep and has a 350 pound capacity. This is along the lines of what you can expect from a ready made store bench and the price range is fairly indicative of what you can expect for the size.

To Build Or To Buy? That’s a question that only you can answer yourself. Above I mentioned a sort of standard cheaper model that you can expect to find. The other option that many people like to do is to simply build your own to suit your exact needs and space constraints. If you go this route, I suggest equipping your bench with a solid butcher block top. you can find distributors for these all over the place and you can find one to fit your exact budget and space specifications fairly cheaply. Often between $100 and $600 depending on the size on type of wood.

Extra Heavy-Duty Workbench, 10,000 LB. Capacity This bench is all metal and very tough looking. It has all welded construction that is ideal for most heavy duty assembly or maintenance projects. The Legs are 3″x3″3/16″ thick and have pre punched floor mount holes. It has a 12 gauge lower shelf with 5″H backstop that gives you plenty of storage. It comes with an optional locking drawer as well. The whole thing is a cool looking powder gray finish.

No matter what you finally decide to do when choosing your industrial work bench, either buying one or building your own, it’s important to get one that works out specifically for you and your exact needs. You’re going to be using it a lot, make sure you find one that you like.

Having the right garage work bench is essential if you do any kind of work around the house whatsoever. A garage just isn’t a garage until you get a good solid workbench in there that you can use day in and day out and can handle all of your household project needs.

There are many options for you when it comes to this sort of thing. You can buy one but they can be expensive, you can also make one which is an option that many people take. A good garage workbench needs several things though in order to become really useful. It should have a peg board or some way to hang up things like tools that you need and use on an everyday basis that you don’t want stored away, and it should have lots of counter space so you can work on projects easily.

Today I’m going to talk a little bit about building your own and also about buying a good one. I’ll talk about some of the things that your bench should have and I’ll also talk about some of the things that your bench should not have that you may be tempted to stick in there anyway.

Let’s talk about buying one first: obvious a the easiest thing to do is just run out and buy a good bench. Prices are falling these days when it comes to workbenches, but you can still expect to pay a decent amount of money for a good one. Especially if you’re looking for large bench, you can expect to pay a little more money. One option is to purchase a solid bench kit…

2×4basics 14429 Workbench and Shelving Storage System with Hooks and Clamps is a great workbench that you can buy for a very low price; sometimes as low as $80! It’s very large and very sturdy and has places to store all your tools and lots and lots of counter space. For the price you simply can’t go wrong and it’s very hard for you to find anything as large and sturdy at such small price. This unit also comes with two shelves underneath that allow you to store all kinds of things and have easy access to them. While this is a kit that you must put together, all you need is some wood and you’re ready to go.

Do it yourself? building your own workbench for your garage is probably what you’re going to have to end doing because you can get much more bench for your money and also you can custom design it to fit your exact rooms spacing needs. Many people like to build these things right into the walls of your garage, while other people like standalone models that you can move around if you have to.

If you do do it yourself, make sure that your bench has several things that you need including shelving space underneath the bench as well as peg board above the bench so that you can hang essential tools that you’ll need for any project so that you don’t have to be fishing around to find them when you need them! Counter space is also very important and the more of it you can have, the better off are going to be in the long run. Many people simply run a bench along the entire length of one of the garage walls, and we find that this is probably one of the best ways to build a garage workbench.

In my opinion there is no better workbench then a black and decker workbench. There quality just doesn’t compare to any other brand out there especially for the price. In fact they are so much better than just about everything else that I don’t even bother discussing the other brands for the most part.

Today I’m going to discuss several different models that you can choose from and talk about different prices and different price ranges and touch on what you can expect to get as far as features and options at each specific price range. When you’re done here you have an excellent understanding of what this brand has to offer and why you should choose them from your workplace and home project needs.

Lets start with the low end range: low-end prices are very low when it comes to Black & Decker. Of course at these low prices you’re not going to get much of a bench, in fact sometimes they seem like little more than sawhorses at these prices, but still everybody should have a few sitting around in case you need an extra sawhorse! Prices in this range are all below $50. Now some of those prices can drop as low as $30 such as the OPP Workmate WM125, and the the WM125 Workmate at around $35. Of course at this price point you get what you pay for, which is not much.

Middle Range Benches: between $60 and a hundred dollars you’ll get quite a few more options for your money. Generally speaking, we’re talking about a little more sturdy workbench here, something you can feel comfortable working that has an actual capacity of some sort. You’re not going to be worrying about whether or not things can hold up at this price range. So the more popular models in this range start at the WM225 Bench Workmate W / Single Handed Clamp for around $70. From there you’re basically gonna see models at around the hundred dollar range such as the WM536 Dual Height Folding Workmate Workbench (WM-536), which is a pretty solid bench that will handle a lot of your needs.

Higher Range Models: the higher Range models in my mind run at between $100 and $150, of course you’ve got more expensive benches than that out there but I think of them as a top-flight models and I’ll discuss them in a minute. At the higher Range you’re going to see benches like the WM425 Workmate 425-550 Pound Capacity Portable Work Bench which is especially nice because it’s a good solid portable bench that will handle lots of different jobs. At around $120 you can’t beat it. There are a couple more models in that price range until you hit the top of that range which is the WM626 Deluxe Workmate (WM-626) at around $150 (though you can find them on sale for $20 cheaper if you look around).

The workbench that you choose is going to reflect your personality, but more specifically it’s going to be a function of what you need it for. You need a certain bench for a certain job than the choice of benches becomes very easy for you. If you would like a general all-around bench that will handle lots of different things then your options are more wide open. The more specific your needs the more specific your bench will be.

Whichever bench you decide to purchase, one thing is absolutely sure. And that is that a black and decker workbench will last for years and years to come and handle any job you throw at it. You’ll be happy you went with Black & Decker, believe me!

If you’ve done any sort of major or even minor construction or woodworking project of any kind in your home, then you know the importance of having open workbench space. If you’ve done a lot of projects in your home, then you know how massively important it is to have portable workspace, I’m talking about a portable work bench that you can move around to use wherever you need it.

Your workbench is the heart of your workshop, but sometimes you have to work outside of your shop, either out on a job or just around the house. In times like this it’s essential to have something that you can pack up and take with you. Something lightweight, easy to manage, yet sturdy enough to get the job done… no matter what the job is! You’ve come to the right place. I’m going to talk today all about portable workbenches, the best ones that I think you should use, as well as some discussion about what you can expect to pay and maybe even how to find a good deal.

You Don’t Have To Skimp On Options just because your workbench is portable, doesn’t mean you have to skimp on any options that you may need. While it’s true that you can get a really stripped-down version of one of these portable devices rather cheaply, you can also get one filled with just about everything you need for not a whole lot of cash. I’ll get into that in more details below, I just wanted to make the point that portable does not have to mean worthless.

Let’s talk price for a minute or two: so when you get right down to it, what will you have to pay for a decent bench? Well that depends on a couple different things. The first thing is size. Generally speaking, now this isn’t always the case but I find it’s the case most of the time… the larger the bench the more money you’re going to expect to pay. The same holds true for features and options. Almost always, the more different features you want as well as the more options you need, the more you’re going to pay overall. This isn’t always the case, in fact sometimes you can get everything you need fairly cheaply, especially if it is specialized. But on the whole, this will hold true when it comes to price.

Let’s talk price specifics I like to think of prices in a range from low to medium on up to high. Low prices generally look at your stripped-down versions with not a lot of options. Medium prices go to medium benches that have a fair number of the options you’re going to need but not all of the bells and whistles. Finally the high-priced versions I’ll look at will have everything you need as well as some really nice bells and whistles that will make your life a lot easier, but these are things that you’re going to pay for. Also some brands are more expensive than others and I’ll try and talk brands in more detail a little later on. First we’ll focus solely on price.

Let’s Start With The Low End: to start off with let’s look at the Grizzly G8586 Portable Clamping Workbench. This beast is going to run you about $36 is 24″ x 9 1/2″ in work surface and features four 1/4″ clamping capacity. It weighs about 17 pounds. In my mind you will use this mostly as as a folding horse.

Middle Range Units: next let’s look at the Black & Decker WM225 Workmate 225 450 Pound Capacity Portable Work Bench. I think of this as a middle Range unit at about $80. It transforms into a vice, a sawhorse, and a bench tool stand; it has a steel design which holds up to 450 pounds and has an adjustable jaw that includes swivel pegs for unique gripping range. It weighs about 28 pounds, and includes four vice attachments. This is a very nice middle of the range unit and sort of indicative of what you can expect in this field though it may not be the sturdiest model out there.

Top Range Benches: finally, at the mid to top of the range let’s look at the Black & Decker WM425 Workmate 425-550 Pound Capacity Portable Work Bench. This guy will run you about $120 and is sort of what you can expect unless you’re willing to spend several hundred dollars. It easily transforms into a bench tool stand or a roomy workbench; has a heavyweight steel design, it’s designed to hold up to 550 pounds of weight, has a one-handed clamp system which lets you independently adjust the jaw, and has for swivel pegs and a vice to workbench converter insert as well as an extra block. It weighs about 50 pounds which makes moving it and around fairly easy.

I hope this gives you a fairly good idea of the kind of portable work bench you can expect to find as well as the different price ranges and a couple of different brands that are available. Check out the site for a lot more detail about different models and prices.
